I'm not sure what this means

Me: Jamie, you are hilarious.

Jamie: You can't use that word in this family.

Me: What? Hilarious?

Jamie: Yeah. You can't say 'hilarious' in a Mexican family.

Me: What?

Jamie: Yeah. We live in Mexico and you can't say 'hilarious' in a Mexican family.

Since you don't really live in Mexico, I think you need to start pronouncing it "jilarious" from now on.

It must really be an adventure living with her.
